My father, A.Wm. Giegold was in the 82nd 508 FCo. as was RFC James J. Murray. PFC Murray is one of 13 ‘F’Co. men killed in Normandy. The 82nd have 362 members buried at the American Cemetery in Normandy. On June 6, 2022 members of the Corral Group at LaSalle HS in Cinncinatti, Ohio will be going there to sing at the memorial service that morning. I will be speaking to that group of young men April 1, 2022 concerning the 82nd particularly ‘F’ Co.’s roll in Normandy. In an effort to present to those young men going the sacrfices of those beneath those white crosses at the cemetery I am doing an information sheet on each of the 13 men. I have not been able to find a picture of PFC Murray. If anyone has one please post it. Many thanks.
